Death was expressed through Laius, he got killed from his own son Oedipus. They were arguing over who had the right of way on a cross path. Laius and his men told Oedipus that they were going to push Oedipus on the side of the road and that he could wait for them to pass through. Oedipus was offended and killed Laius; although, he did not even know Laius was the king of Thebes or his true father. Oedipus states that who ever killed Laius would be cursed which would lead to death.
CROSSROADS
Oedipus was running away from his adopted parents because oracle told him he was going to kill his father and marry his mother.
Oedipus did not know that those were not his real parents so he tried to prevent what he heard.
He approached Laius while on a three-way crossroad.
Laius and his men argued that they had the right of way because they thought that they were more important.
Oedipus was offended and killed Laius.
Oedipus did not know that Laius was the king of Thebes or his father.
This states that what the oracle was saying, is coming true.
