Oedipus the not so royal king...
Oedipus is a man of his words who became King of Thebes. He was destined at birth to murder his father Laius and marry his mother Jocasta. His step father is Polybus, King of Corinth and his step mother is Merope. He runs away from Corinth to get out from murdering his father and marrying his mother, but he does not know that Polybus and Merope are actually his step parents. When the oracle stated the info to Oedipus he was scared and frightened and ending up leaving and running away to Thebes. On the journey of running away he meets at three-way cross road where he also see's other men coming along his path. The man (Laius) who Oedipus did not know at the time, ended up getting into an argument and Oedipus ends up killing the unknown man (Laius his father who he does not know is his father at the time). Everyone dies at the time of this big argument except one man. Years latter , Oedipus sends for a blind prophet Tiresias. Tiresias names Oedipus as the criminal, and he gets very offended thinking Creon is plotting against him so he can gain throne of Thebes. Oedipus starts to worry because the description of the man Tiresias describes matches up with the same exact description of the man Oedipus killed a few years back.
