LIVES UP TO HIS WORDS...

The limits of free will affects Oedipus. The definition of free will is acting without being forced to, or needing to. Oedipus states that he will curse whoever killed Laius. Once Oedipus finds out that he actually killed his father, Laius, he could back out of the curse and refuse to curse his own self since he is the king. However, Oedipus doesn't back out of what he promised his people he would do. Free will affects Oedipus in such a way that he doesn't need to continue on with the curse, but he does anyways.
